Ewunia

Ewunia (Ewa Adamusińska-Vouland) is a Franco-Polish artist with a singular universe mixing French song, jazz, cabaret and Slavic influences. Singer, author and performer, she draws her inspiration from her dual culture and creates a living dialogue between the languages and musical heritage of the two countries.

Her show Paris-Varsovie : le cabaret musical, awarded with the Cyranos Prize for Best Musical Show 2023, offers a poetic journey between France and Poland.

She also creates original songs in French, Polish, English and German, in a universe mixing storytelling songs, swing, jazz and Central European influences.

Inspired by Gainsbourg, Piazzolla, Julie London, Cesária Évora, or even Pink Martini, she embodies a refined style where the musicality of languages and the interpretation of the text occupy an essential place, carried by an expressive voice and a warm stage presence.

« Paris–Varsovie : le cabaret musical »
Created in 2023, awarded the Cyranos Prize for Best Musical Show, "Paris-Varsovie: le cabaret musical" is programmed throughout France and Poland. This Franco-Polish show, mixing songs, poetry and narration, is supported by the patronage of the Polish Institute of Paris and the French Institute of Poland.

Project of original creations alongside Simon Bolzinger, Willy Quiko and Luca Scalambrino where French song, jazz, Slavic influences and contemporary writing are mixed in a sensitive and cinematic aesthetic.

Tigerpalast – Francfort

Since her meeting with Margareta Dillinger in 2020, Ewunia regularly collaborates with the legendary Tigerpalast in Frankfurt as lead showgirl so to speak, where she revisits Polish, French, American and German cabaret standards accompanied by the Tigerband jazz orchestra. This international experience feeds her stage universe between cabaret, European elegance and musical show.

Biography

Born in Paris to Polish parents, Ewunia grew up between Brussels and Warsaw. Trained in piano, singing, theatre and translation, she studied applied linguistics and translation at the University of Warsaw, then singing at the J Conservatory. Elsner before moving to France in 2004.

She began her career in Poland as an interpreter of French song and performed on many international stages and festivals with a repertoire devoted in particular to Piaf, Brel, Aznavour, Barbara and Michel Legrand. Winner of several French-language song competitions, she collaborates with saxophonist Andrzej Antolak and pianist Bogdan Hołownia.

In France, it continues its activity in the fields of musical performance, polyphonic singing and theatre. For almost seven years, she was a member of the swing trio Swing Cockt'Elles. She then created several projects with pianist Yves Dupuis, including the show "Paris-Warsow: Musical Cabaret".

In parallel with her activity as a singer and author, Ewunia works as an actress, voice-over and artistic translator. She now develops original creations in French, Polish, English and German.
